ABOUT THIS SESSION
SESSION 9 of the trial of Adolf Eichmann took place in the afternoon of Tuesday, April 18, 1961. Immediately following the conclusion of Attorney General Gideon Hausner’s Opening Statement, SESSION 9 saw the testimony of the first witnesses in the trial. Police Major Naphtali Bar-Shalom, who was responsible for dealing with documents in preparation for the trial, testifies as to how such documents were processed. Police Captain Avner Less, who interrogated Eichmann in prison, then testifies as to the protocol of the interrogation. His testimony continues through SESSION 12.
Less than 20 minutes of footage from SESSION 9 has survived, including the opening of the session and the beginning of Bar-Shalom’s testimony. Less’s testimony from this session is preserved in its entirety.
