ABOUT THIS SESSION
SESSION 82 of the trial of Adolf Eichmann took place in the morning of Thursday, June 29, 1961. In this session, Defense Counsel Dr. Robert Servatius continues his direct examination of Eichmann, which began in SESSION 75. Topics discussed include: Concentration camps in the Protectorate of Bohemia & Moravia, including Theresienstadt; Eichmann’s involvement in deportations from France; Eichmann’s feelings about ‘humane’ methods of dealing with Jews; and withholding knowledge of Auschwitz from Jews due for deportation.
Although most of the footage from SESSION 82 has been lost, the approximately seventy minutes of surviving material is presented here. One section of this session, at 0:28:35, survives only via a contemporaneous news broadcast, and contains minor edits made by the broadcaster.
