ABOUT THIS SESSION
SESSION 81 of the trial of Adolf Eichmann took place in the morning of Wednesday, June 28, 1961. In this session, Defense Counsel Dr. Robert Servatius continues his direct examination of Eichmann, which began in SESSION 75. Topics discussed include: the transformation of the Litzmannstadt (Lodz) Ghetto into a concentration camp; the fate of Jews of foreign nationality in Nazi Germany; Eichmann’s activities in Austria; his ability to make decisions or issue instructions on his own; Kristallnacht; and Eichmann’s inspections of the Theresienstadt concentration camp.
Although most of the footage from SESSION 81 has been lost, the approximately seventy minutes of surviving material is presented here. Audio is unavailable for the last several seconds of the session, following the Court’s adjournment.
