SESSION LXI
ABOUT THIS SESSION
SESSION 61 of the trial of Adolf Eichmann took place in the morning of Thursday, June 1, 1961. The session begins with the resumption of the submission of documentation on Nazi activity in Hungary. After some time, Arye Zvi Breszlauer testifies in regard to his experience in Hungary during the Nazi occupation. In particular, he describes the conditions of Jews he witnessed on a November 1944 ‘foot-march’ organized by Eichmann. Breszlauer’s testimony is immediately followed by that of Aviva Fleischmann, who took part in the aforementioned ‘foot-march’ and describes life in Austria’s Lichtenworth women’s camp. Following her testimony, additional documents on Hungary are submitted through the end of the session.
The vast majority of SESSION 61 has been lost. The roughly forty minutes of surviving footage are presented here. The first few minutes of the surviving material suffer from degraded audio, though dialogue is still audible and can be followed using the subtitles.
