SESSION L
ABOUT THIS SESSION
SESSION 50 of the trial of Adolf Eichmann took place in the morning of Wednesday, May 24, 1961. Continuing the focus on Nazi actions in Slovakia that began in SESSION 49, it begins with the resumption of the submission of documents into evidence by Assistant Prosecutor Gabriel Bach. Documents are also submitted into evidence in regard to the alleged deportation and slaughter of the children of the Czech village of Lidice in retaliation for the nearby assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. These events are the subject of the twelfth count of the indictment against Eichmann. Dr. Bedrich Steiner, a Prague lawyer, then testifies in regard to Nazi actions in Slovakia. He quotes from records indicating the number of Slovak Jews deported and that, in some cases, more than 99% of deportees were killed. He also identifies several photographs depicting the deportation of Slovak Jews.
The majority of SESSION 50 has been lost. The roughly thirty minutes of surviving footage are presented here.
