ABOUT THIS SESSION
SESSION 12 of the trial of Adolf Eichmann took place in the morning of Monday, April 24, 1961. In this session, Police Captain Avner Less, who interrogated Eichmann in prison, concludes his testimony that began in SESSION 9. At the request of Attorney General Gideon Hausner, he submits several written documents and discusses the organizational structure of Eichmann’s department. Following a brief cross-examination by Defense Counsel Robert Servatius, Professor Salo Baron of Columbia University testifies regarding the history of the Jewish population in Europe. He discusses the size of the population there, and the Jewish community’s contributions to European culture and scholarship. His testimony continues in SESSION 13.
Only about half an hour of footage from SESSION 12 has survived. From 14:10 to roughly 16:13, the audio becomes degraded and difficult to hear, but the dialogue can be followed using the subtitles.
