SESSION CVIX
ABOUT THIS SESSION
SESSION 109 of the trial of Adolf Eichmann took place in the morning of Tuesday, July 25, 1961. The trial remains in ‘housekeeping’ mode, with the bulk of SESSION 109 taken up by the submission of the remaining evidence by the Defense and Prosecution. The first half of the session sees Defense Counsel Dr. Robert Servatius and Attorney General Gideon Hausner submitting affidavits by Alfred Josef Slawik (on which Eichmann is briefly examined and cross-examined) and Geza Lakatos, along with various brief documents referenced earlier in the trial or in witness testimony. Following a lengthy recess, the judges issue a series of decisions on whether or not to admit various articles of evidence, the admissibility of which was in question. Finally, a short discussion is held to determine the schedule of the rest of the trial, beginning with the Prosecution’s closing argument. It is decided to recess for several days so that Hausner can prepare his arguments.
The vast majority of SESSION 109 is preserved, with only a single gap of less than one minute missing.
