SESSION X

ABOUT THIS SESSION

SESSION 10 of the trial of Adolf Eichmann took place in the morning of Tuesday, April 19, 1961. In this session, Police Captain Avner Less, who interrogated Eichmann in prison, continues his testimony from SESSION 9. At the request of Attorney General Gideon Hausner, he reads excerpts from the transcript of the interrogation and submits two boxes of transcribed pages to the Court. Additionally, tapes of the interrogation are played, including some in which Eichmann describes witnessing the mass-murder of Jews and one in which he estimates the war’s death toll at five million Jews.

About an hour of footage from SESSION 10 has survived. Two short sections, at 51:47 and 01:01:47, survive only via a 1961 news broadcast, and are included here with watermarks from the broadcaster. These portions of the trial were re-edited by the broadcaster and do not appear exactly as they did in the trial.
